In designing our platform beds, we were not looking to build an ordinary metal foundation which would sag and undermine the support you expect from your mattress after a year or so. Instead, we designed our line with the focus on quality, convenience, and long term comfort.
Flexible bent wood slats are recognized as the ideal base for supporting a mattress. They flex under you weight to absorb the downward pressure from your mattress, supporting your weight as needed. Metal slat foundations, on the other hand, popular because of price, lose their elasticity over time, causing the mattress to sag and shortening the life of the mattress.
